The Wikipedia entry for the Track” Miss You” by The Rolling Stones ( 1978) lists it’s genre as ” Disco” . Yet other than it’s 4 on the floor beat I must be missing something. An 8:36 version, called the “Special Disco Version”, was released as the Stone’s first 12-inch single ( In Pink Vinyl). According to Drummer Charlie Watts the track was heavily influenced by going to the Nightclubs of the period. Mick Jagger and Billy Preston came up with the idea while touring Europe in 1976.The track went to #1 on US Billboard Hot 100 and has been featured in programs such as Miami Vice. I do know a few Disco DJs of the period who would incorporate this track into their sets due to it’s prominent bassline.
