Erasure ” Chains of Love”

Erasure ” Chains of Love”

It’s one of those songs that bordered on a few genres ,”Dance” with it’s four on the floor and pulsing synth bassline , ” New Wave” with Andy Bell’s falsettos. It managed to find it’s way into many DJs playlists in 1988 when tracks like The Pet Shop Boy’s ” Always on my Mind” and Rick Astley’s ” Never gonna Give You Up ” were also making waves on the Dancefloor. Here in Miami it became what I call A ” Dance Floor Sing Along” . One of those tracks where you could turn down the volume and the crowd would take over on lead vocals. The song was released by Mute Records as the second single from Erasure’s third studio album The Innocents. The track reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales Chart. The Shep Pettibone Mix gave DJs a much needed Extended percussion Intro and Break for Mixing.
